While I'm not a fan of Charlie's beliefs, actions and his brand of conservatism, he was willing to go across the political divide and foster debates with those that do not share his values.
Condolences to his young family and everyone close to him.
- croes 1y agoHe was willing to debate to his own advantage. He used the less talented debaters to ridicule the opposing side.
- jalapenos 1y agoBoth sides routinely do this. Do you like this outcome, croes? Be honest... It's the internet so you can speak your true feelings
- Hasnep 1y agoI'm interested to know who you think is a leftist Ben Shapiro/Charlie Kirk type who debates right wing students. I haven't heard of any, but I'm sure they exist.
- jalapenos 1y agoI too haven't heard of any right wing students, but I'm sure they exist
- midasz 1y agoIt's a bit odd to claim both sides do something but not elaborate when asked for more info. Seems disingenuous.
- jalapenos 1y agoNo, it's flippant. What's disingenuous is substituting my "this" for whatever one pleases, when in context it was obviously the concepts referred to in the post it replied to - debating for one's own advantage, and milking wins against weak interlocutors.
- croes 1y agoI think you find some here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S-WJN3L5eo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S-WJN3L5eo
- nailer 1y agoHe debated the president-elect of the Oxford students union a little while ago.
