Nah, 2k had big problems for desktop usage. No window snapping to edges of any kind, including no win+arrow keys for tiling, maximize, minimize restore etc., you couldn't just click the bottom left hot corner to open your start menu, you actually had to click on the button that said "Start"; no opening start menu and typing "Mouse" and hitting enter to open the mouse control panel (Windows Search was truly so excellent pre-UWP settings); no desktop compositing, so all your windows will have constant screen tearing;
- mikewarot 1y agoWhy would you want to snap windows to edges? It took me forever to figure out how to turn that crap off with later versions of windows. Sometimes you just want to look at part of a window, so having the rest of it hang off the screen where it's not wasting space, is a good thing. As for starting commands, usually just ctrl-escape, or the windows key, and I had a command line right there in the main menu. Search on a desktop still seems silly.
