- AnimalMuppet 1y agoYou seem to be moving the goalposts. Nobody had to wait for EU membership to complete their rebuilding from WWII. Nobody had to wait for EU membership to establish a tech industry. By 1980 they had everything they needed, and the "needed to rebuild from WWII" excuse was over.
