Have you ever taken an Uber? People are paying double the cost of a regular cab and Uber is doing extremely well. People will pay for convenience. Personally, I've gone way over the time in which I should have changed my oil dozens of times simply because it's inconvenient and I have better things to do. I'm also not even sure what an average oil change costs? Without that knowledge, because I haven't done it often enough to know, $40 actually seems perfectly reasonable.
