I love the passive voice the American media uses when an American right wing authority figure (cops, any Republican) is creating a situation whereby they are permitted to do violence. to the extent "tensions [are] growing", it's the US murdering random people at sea and apparently trying to start a war with Venezuela. this isn't some unfortunate situation, it's a deliberately contrived situation because the entire US elite rolled over and are just letting a bunch of lunatics destroy the country and indulge the whims of a weird old loser.
