I do enjoy this view that every poor person is out to steal your shit at any moment. It's so archaic and classist. Just neat to see someone hew to these old ways. A modern, more egalitarian view might be that the poor are just as principled as the rich and just as likely to create societies free from crime. But this is a real throwback. Enjoyable in that respect.
