55F is the temp I know a lot of people keep their house at in the winter. Mostly older poorly insulated homes where the bill will be absurd if they put it at 72*. Sweaters work. So do blankets.
- dgacmu 1y agoThey do! But my hands hurt typing at 55 after a while and my children get grumpy. I put a lot of insulation and air sealing into my house when I bought it and our heating bills are ... ok. About $250/month during the colder months to keep it at 65-66 in the main floor. I can't imagine 72.
