  If this is accomplished with visible blue light, does that mean that using a bright white light could also help, since it would contain some amount of visible blue light?

    Given how slowly direct sunlight fades things (compared to, say, doing laundry) - I'd say "could also help" would be a rather charitable way to describe it.
