Mistakes can occur. I worked on a large software project that came very close to shipping a release with a significant portion of vendor licenses, such as curl, missing. A developer had made a change to the build step that collected the licensing. During testing, the licensing command displayed as a “wall of text”, and QA didn’t notice that it was only one-third of its normal length. I was simply looking for something and noticed the missing licensing attributes. In my opinion, especially if you weren’t involved in the original import of the vendor software or libraries, this is something that’s easily overlooked.
