40% of daily code written at Coinbase is AI-generated
- markus_zhang 1y agoGod. I really need to get FU money and go to a cave to write my own stuffs. Why did I bother with marriage and kids? Sigh now I need a much larger FU money after I fucked someone…
- duxup 1y agoThese kinds of proclamations have that LinkedIn post vibe where I imagine some poor engineer just marking things as AI generated so the boss doesn't bother him about their silly metric.
- DiabloD3 1y agoThats a weird way for Coinbase to announce they're going out of business. (This is almost my catch phrase at this point, its kinda wild)
- uejfiweun 1y agoWhy is it always Coinbase with these douchey statements?
- nomoreofthat 1y agoTheir entire business is around the facilitation of illegal gambling, large scale fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, terrorist financing, and drug trafficking, with a tiny percentage of semi-legitimate users. Their founders have consistently behave like narcissist, who are always the victim in every situation and believe the rules shouldn’t apply to them. It would be shocking if they weren’t always disgracing themselves
- cedws 1y agoI saw an ad[0] recently and was in disbelief it was an actual, official Coinbase ad. It’s making fun of the lower class and deprived areas of the UK with the implication people should gamble away their money on crypto in hopes of a better life. - rcxdude 1y agoI've seen this around, they're pretty damn gross, and far too political for commercial advertising in the UK IMO.
- pixelpoet 1y agoThey're basically the GoDaddy of crypto
- archero 1y agoThis metric sounds like an incentive to add a bunch of unnecessary lines of code, so a higher percentage of the codebase is AI-generated. I thought we knew better than to use volume of code as a metric. Relevant xkcd: https://xkcd.com/2899/ https://xkcd.com/2899/
- mertleee 1y agoThis is... deeply troubling for a crypto exchange...
