I'm not seeing how JRuby is much more efficient: http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/u64q/benchmark.php?test=all&lang=jruby&lang2=yarv http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/u64q/benchmark.php?test=al... Some tests are faster and some are slower. Nowhere near as efficient as Java.
