- morkalork 1y agoThinking about Hollywood here since they faced the massive imbalance between relatively few people making movies and a near infinite number of people submitting pitches and screenplays early on in their history: The solution is gatekeepers, personal networks and flat out rejecting anything submitted by an outsider.
- emseetech 1y agoRight, friction is required even if it’s artificial. Which was not the future we were promised but it’s the only way that seems viable. The Hollywood system has serious flaws but at least it’s manageable. Bringing back in-person pitches, applications and presentations would go a long way though.
