Seems like a lot of users not familiar with skateboard/longboarding are weighing in their opinion on the safety issues presented by this product. This product presents no more danger to the user or the general public than does a normal skateboard/longboard. So obviously yes, just like a bike or skateboard, don't expect to just be able to hop on and cruise from day 1.
