I liked "a beauiful mind" about John Nash and game theory.
And "The Triumph of the Nerds: The Rise of Accidental Empires" is a must-see about how Microsoft, Apple, et al. started out.
- mschwar99 18y agoTriumph of the Nerds is great. Hopefully Cringley will make a version for this decade about Web empires.
- rogercosseboom 18y agoHe did make "Nerds 2.0" about the first web boom. Sadly, this has never been released on vhs/dvd.
- mixmax 18y agoIt has been released on the Intertubes apparently: http://www.torrentbox.com/torrent_details?id=29078&filelist=1 http://www.torrentbox.com/torrent_details?id=29078&filel...
- rogercosseboom 18y agoSadly I tried to download this a while ago and it turned out to be fake... its another (not-so-interesting) documentary on the internet.
- mixmax 18y agoThis one seems to be the real deal, I'm downloading it now, and I saw Robert X. Cringely in the preview.
- mschwar99 18y agoEvidently there is VHS / DVD out there. Didn't find anything streaming, but didn't look too hard. Mr Cringley was nice enough to point us in the right direction: http://www.pbs.org/opb/nerds2.0.1/ http://www.pbs.org/opb/nerds2.0.1/ http://www.amazon.com/Nerds-2-0-1-Brief-History-Internet/dp/6305128235 http://www.amazon.com/Nerds-2-0-1-Brief-History-Internet/dp/...
- wenbert 18y agoI second "A Beautiful Mind" - one of my favorite movies...
- jd 18y ago"Pirates of Silicon Valley" is -much- better than Triumph. Both are must-sees.
