I read a book of hers, where she suggested that avoiding and medicating for pain can be a huge mistake. Which ties in nicely to Stoic philosophy.
She also details some very unusual addictions, which can strike very successful people.

- gsf_emergency_2 1y agoThe Greeks of "Stoa Poikile" were good at asking questions but nowadays we associate Stoicism with the stodgy Romans. Thanks for the book rec! Those unusual addictions could have something positive and life-affirming about them!
