They've made that claim, but nobody's provided any evidence.
- nofriend 1y agoWhat purpose is unmasking them supposed to serve if not that?
- jacquesm 1y agoTo get their identity down so they can be prosecuted if and when the time comes.
- goda90 1y agoAccountability. Law enforcement officers should fear legal consequences for any illegal and excessive actions done while on duty. If the public can't identify them, and their co-workers don't feel an incentive to turn them in, then how will they face consequences? If they don't face consequences, what will incentivize them to follow the law and act with restraint?
- nofriend 1y agoA simple badge number would suffice for that
- goda90 1y agoWhich they are frequently not giving either.
- HDThoreaun 1y agoOk then they should have to prominently display their badge number
- cosmicgadget 1y agoYou're commenting on the internet and don't understand the difference in behavior when anonymity is involved?
- nofriend 1y agoThe myth that people behave differently when they are/aren't anonymous has been thoroughly debunked. People are against anonymity because they want to be able to threaten your employment when you say something they don't like. And when your employer doesn't care, they move on to threatening you and your family.
- cosmicgadget 1y agoThoroughly huh? Please send me a link or citation!
- nofriend 1y agosee my reply up thread
- cosmicgadget 1y ago"Visit facebook"? Well done you have completely disproven the distinction between anonymous and attributable sources. Where should I send your award?
- AlecSchueler 1y agoNever heard of that being debunked and it seems to go against common sense/my own experience. Could you share your sources for that?
- nofriend 1y agovisit facebook

- AlecSchueler 1y agoOk so it's been very vaguely debunked and even then only up to a certain very milquetoast and unconvincing level.
- _mlbt 1y ago> Ten people have been arrested so far in a “planned ambush” of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in north Texas. > On July 4, the Alvarado Police Department announced that one of its police officers had been shot in the neck after responding to a call without stating the incident occurred outside of an immigration facility. It was the first of two officer involved shootings outside of a federal immigration facility in Texas this week, The Center Square first reported. > What occurred was “a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers,” Larson said. “Make no mistake, this was not a so-called peaceful protest. It was indeed an ambush” to draw out people from inside “and it worked.” https://www.thecentersquare.com/texas/article_a0a1ea2f-c61f-4311-8846-0726c9175e9b.html https://www.thecentersquare.com/texas/article_a0a1ea2f-c61f-...
- anigbrowl 1y agoWhat does this have to with agents being unmasked? Taht was outside an ICE facility. I'm not excusing it, but nor am I taking the claims in the indictment at face value, pending trial. I can't just give the administration the benefit of the doubt since it literally headed by a criminal.
- _mlbt 1y agoYou don’t think that these unhinged lunatics won’t attack ICE agents and their families?
- anigbrowl 1y agoI think we should make policy based on real events instead of imaginary ones. If people in the administration say something is happening, then it's up to them to provide evidence of it. Otherwise it seems safer to assume they are lying.
- _mlbt 1y agoThe ambush was a real event!!! A man was shot in the neck and nearly killed. WTF??? So does an ICE agent need to actually be murdered in cold blood for you to care about their safety?
