it's a great idea. but... - many tools are too expensive to share with random people. family/friends will know what you have and will call in to ask - left over

- left over tiles or extra paint: it's not left over. it's spare for when tiles break down or when you need to touch up paint on the wall
- rocknrollisdev 1y agoThanks for sharing totally get where you’re coming from. On tools, it’s kind of like car sharing. At first it felt impossible, but with the right setup people found ways to make it work, especially for those bigger tools you don’t use every day. And with materials, you’d be surprised how much good stuff gets tossed during renovations: paint, tiles, doors, cabinets, even lumber. A lot of it could easily be reused instead of ending up in the dumpster. That’s really the heart of it, helping give those extras a second life and cut down on waste.
- tguvot 1y agothere was/is site that allowed to rent out photo/video equipment. are you familiar with it and all the issues that it had ?
- rocknrollisdev 1y agoThose gear-rental platforms like ShareGrid definitely highlighted the tricky parts: trust, insurance, and keeping expensive equipment in good shape. Makes sense that similar concerns would come up here too. They also ran into headaches like damage or missing-item claims, uneven gear quality, unpredictable logistics, and not-great customer support on occasion.
