I think that it’s more likely that your perspective has changed in the last ~15 years rather than the makeup of conference attendees changing. I.e. I think it’s more likely that you’re noticing the inexperience of others because you yourself have gained experience. At some point in your life you yourself were the “hey I just learned to code 5 lines of python” person at those conferences. As another analogy, someone driving on the highway can’t complain about the traffic, they are traffic.
