Facebook received billions from others to put ads on it's abused users so they buy crap they don't want or need.
Put simple, if a company lives by putting ads for others, it should be closed.
Nobody needs ads.
- ezekg 1y agoMarketing != ads. It can be, but it doesn't have to be. And not all ads are bad, only untargeted ads are "bad." Marketing is many things, as the post mentions. At it's best, it's a simple transfer of enthusiasm. e.g. enthusiasm is what the open source distribution model is built on.
- roscas 1y agoI see your point. But we do have to start where it hurst the most, stop all ads to break these companies that solo reply on ads revenue. They are more than one single problem.
