Pretty much. It is called "autotools" for a reason. Theoretically you should be able to generate the configuration scripts through "autoconf" (or autoreconf),

Pretty much. It is called "autotools" for a reason.
Theoretically you should be able to generate the configuration scripts through "autoconf" (or autoreconf), or generate Makefile.in for configure from Makefile.am using "automake", etc.
