Looking at the AM5 pinout[0], it looks like those pins are VDDCR and VSS. There might be a little bit of PCIe sprinkled in towards the outer edges, but I'm not

Looking at the AM5 pinout[0], it looks like those pins are VDDCR and VSS. There might be a little bit of PCIe sprinkled in towards the outer edges, but I'm not 100% on the orientation of this pinout vs the orientation of the CPU. I don't know anything about electricity so I've got nothing else to add.

- raverbashing 1y agoThis is a nice guess but the likelihood that actual silicon area is closely connected to the pins in that area is not so obvious
- nsteel 1y agoIsn't almost every other pin going to be power/ground on a high-power chip like this? On both the package and the die.
