Astroturfing has been the favorite MO of harmful industries like tobacco, oil, and defense for a long time now.
It's sad that this has become so normal, and that they can pressure opponents into silence. I'm wondering if we'll ever get rid of this.
- fp64 1y agoRemove defense from that list, they are the good guys now. I see you already omitted pharmaceutical industry so you're at least almost up to date
- tovej 1y agoYeah, thought of pharma afterwards. But defense is most definitely on the list, even though the astroturfing looks more like manufacturing consent.
