They answer a lot of stuff in FAQ: http://www.politicalcompass.org/faq http://www.politicalcompass.org/faq As for 1), it is indeed terribly worded, my guess they refer to companies patenting DNA sequences and then requiring a payment for the exported food,nbut obviously there are multiple interpretations. May be it's worder this way on purpose. :)
