Legalizing medically assisted suicide is fine. w/e Forcing others to contribute to funding and carrying it out through taxes is not. It should only be offered when patients ask for it. Some sick people are already depressed and feel like a burden we shouldn't put ideas in their heads.

You sound like you think there isn't an entire system of checks and balances around this but, of course, there is.

    I think it's best that we keep any profit motive out of this. It certainly doesn't work for health care.

        Hippocrates didn't actually write the Hippocratic Oath, which, if this matters to you, also forbids abortion.

        You are technically correct, sir. I guess that out of shame I should just go seek Canadian healthcare. On abortion -- that matters to a lot of people, and it's an outrage that they are forcibly taxed to pay for something they see as murder.

        There's more in the oath than "do no harm". But if you want to just forget about the ancients, I can't stop you. Par for the course in a culture that wants to pull the plug on grandma.
