You seem to be contradicting yourself. One of the key goals of the tariffs is to bring back manufacturing to the US. Yet you're saying the US doesn't rely on trade, which one is it? Manufacturing is offshored so you need tariffs to bring it back onshore and make foreign goods less comeptitive. or America is highly self-sufficient and doesn't need much, negating the entire purpose of tariffs in the first place...so why apply them at all if they have no effect
