- derbOac 1y agoI think the problem with this analogy is that there are often externally imposed or other costs to ending up in a local minimum/maximum. I think this is how people (in the sense of society) should think about it, but in reality it's sometimes like there's a penalty for not finding the global minimum/maximum immediately.
