- nashashmi 1y agoAn astonishing number
- ipnon 1y agoIt's really difficult to wrap one's head around the cash they're able to deploy.
- kgwgk 1y agoThey “deploy” much more than what they generate. Their cash position has gone from $44bn to $12bn in the first six months of the year and are now getting other people to pay for datacenters https://www.reuters.com/business/meta-taps-pimco-blue-owl-29-billion-data-center-expansion-project-source-says-2025-08-08/ https://www.reuters.com/business/meta-taps-pimco-blue-owl-29...
- oblio 1y agoOuch. Other FAANG in a similar position?
- Jagerbizzle 1y agoI guess there's no 'M' in "FAANG" but there's this: https://www.geekwire.com/2025/im-good-for-my-80-billion-what-microsoft-ceo-satya-nadella-really-meant-by-his-stargate-zinger/ https://www.geekwire.com/2025/im-good-for-my-80-billion-what...
- qeternity 1y agoFAANG has been replaced by Mag7: Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Broadcom, Meta, Microsoft, and Nvidia.
- w-ll 1y agoCan we switch to BANAMMA, Ba-nam-ma * Broadcom * Alphabet * Nvidia * Amazon * Meta * Microsoft * Apple
- tiu 1y agoWhy not bloomberg instead lol
- PokestarFan 1y agoDoes Broadcom do anything but get hate for their shitty decisions? They are becoming, if they aren't already, the new Oracle.
- santaboom 1y agoLol get out of the echo chamber Edit: to make this helpful, look at Broadcomm interconnect, switching technology, copackaged optics
- selimthegrim 1y agoI really hope they told the Louisiana regulators this in the meeting yesterday because the argument was something along the lines of “Meta is worth $2T”
- ipnon 1y agoI take offense to your implication this is an incorrect usage of the word deploy.
- Terr_ 1y agoAs opposed to employ? :p
- Hilift 1y agoAt the current price of $107,586 per kilo of gold, that is 731,507 kilos of gold per year. A rail box car has a load limit of 92,500 kilos. Eight full box cars, or 16 half full box cars of gold currently represents the annual output of META.
- stripe_away 1y agohow does this compare to the depreciation cost of their datacenters?
- dh2022 1y agoThe financials from the link to not specifically call out Depreciation Expense. But Operating Income should take into account Depreciation Expense. The financials have a line below Net Income Line called "Reconciled depreciation" with about $16.7 billion. I do not know what that means (maybe this is how they get to the EBITDA metric) but maybe this is the metric you are looking for.
- Hilift 1y agoMost of the operating expenses seem to be in the $13 billion "R&D" spend on the Q2 2025 statement. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GxIeCe7bkAEwXju?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GxIeCe7bkAEwXju?format=jpg&name=...
