- throwaway2016a 1y agoNot OP, but there are many things that I know don't work without trying them. That's not a contradiction. It may or may not be true but it's not a contradiction by itself. You can know reasonable well that something doesn't work by looking at other people who have tried it (sometimes even better if those people are experts and you are not).
