Not only is the protocol easy to implement, some Python servers come with WebSocket support. Tornado (http://www.tornadoweb.org/documentation/websocket.html http://www.tornadoweb.org/documentation/websocket.html) and Autobahn (http://autobahn.ws/ http://autobahn.ws/) are examples.
