There are many great things about London - cheap public transport is definitely not one of them. The TfL network is certainly quite expansive, but is also rather expensive. There's also the generally high cost-of-living, the shitty broadband connectivity (as in the companies are crap, expensive, and bandwidth-limited), and a near-universal hatred of bicycles. Also, it's cold and gray 95% of the year.
