New Cloudflare Pirate Site Blocking May Involve Domains
- ectospheno 1y agoCloudflare isn’t going to exit doing business in the UK. Of course they are going to follow the court order. Effecting change in this case involves voting differently in the UK.
- hdgvhicv 1y agoIt involves changing U.K. public views, the U.K. public tends to be just fine with this type of blocking, therefore the politicians are fine.
- VoidWhisperer 1y agoMight want to correct the post title to 'New Cloudflare Pirate Site Blocking May Already Involve Thousands of Domains' as the current title leaves out some important information
- akk0 1y agoIts failures only make me appreciate the weird HN title changing bot more. A ton of labor must go into manually tweaking titles all the time to make it work for what I'm sure is a strongly felt but ultimately very immaterial benefit compared to just structurally leaving titles unchanged. For historical purposes, the title is now "New Cloudflare Pirate Site May Involve Domains. Big if true!
- VoidWhisperer 1y agoAlso the fact that seems to be frequently missed with these titles is the HN guidelines specifically state that, except in cases of the original source having an editoralized title, the original title should be left as is Edit: while im sure the 'may contain thousands of domains' could be considered editoralized, they provide a rational in the article for having come to that conclusion
- lagniappe 1y agoI would prefer the titles to be just left alone if we're not allowed to submit posts with titles that differ from the actual title of the item.
- uneven9434 1y agoThanks for providing awesome pirate sites! LOL.
- eimrine 1y agoThe biggest torrent tracker by the number of working torrents still has cloudflare.
