Regarding Timmy, the Companion Cube from the game Portal is the greatest example of induced anthropomorphism that I've ever experienced. If you know, you know, and if you don't, you should really play the game, since it's brilliant.
- ChrisMarshallNY 1y agoI'm on a Mac, and would love to see Portal 2 (at least) ported to M-chips. I would love Portal 3, even more.
- generationP 1y agoThe cube doesn't work, or at least it didn't for me. The goggly eyes really do make a difference.
- bitwize 1y agoThat's a matter of informed anthropomorphism. A lot of people don't become attached to the Companion Cube, but are informed that their player character is so attached.
- andrewla 1y agoIt is a brilliant game and the empathy you develop for the cube is a great concept. But arguably much deeper is the fact that nothing in this game, or any single-player game, is a living thing in any form. Arguably the game's characterization of GLaDOS hits even harder on the anthropomorphism angle.
