By definition, capitalism is inhumane. Even if you are worried about the market looking unkindly on your accural of capital, you're doing so in a fashion that prioritizes their perception rather than actual virtue. You are right that democracy can reign capitalism's amoralism in, but so can any other form of government. I don't see why the same can't be said for communism, beyond the standard "it hasn't happened before".
