Do you even know anyone poor? As in living off on less than $2-$5 a day? Or whatever the definition of poor is in your country? And if so, can you share here with the group why they're poor and continue being poor?

- ExoticPearTree 1y agohow does your link answer my question?

- ExoticPearTree 1y agoI asked if you personally onow any poor people and why they are poor and how come they cannot escape their condition. You sent a link from BBC. Same as “more than 50% of Americans don’t have an emergency fund”. Very useless by itself.
- exe34 1y agoWhy do I need to know them personally? Is it not enough that they exist? As I wrote above and you dismissed: > "Yes, the single mother working three jobs in America who still can't afford healthcare for her children chooses to be poor. It's like success gets to your head and pride takes the place of empathy."
- ExoticPearTree 1y agoWhy should you know them personally? So you can understand why they are the way they are. Armchair politics are not helping anyone.
- exe34 1y agoyes, it's her fault that corporate profits kept rising and wages stagnated since the 90s.
