I love the setup, but this sadly fails to deliver. The author doesn't seem to have any idea how to fit the twists and turns of frontend software development trends onto the metaphor of koalas and crows. BTW, jQuery has waned not because it got out-completed by something else, but because it won outright. All the useful things jQuery gave us have been migrated into the base.
