I also do have eye floaters, it's very annoying and I've looked into surgery, but have given up as there are risks. Some doctors would definitely push you to do surgery to make money, you should be glad this doctor didn't. Here where I live that surgery is almost free, but I've decided to not do it because it's a minor annoyance. Every surgery has risk during the recovery process, an infection can happen etc. Even though small, doctors can also make mistakes.
