I think those in power gravitate towards anti democratic governments. It's much easier to bribe your way to getting what you want compared to competing for success.
- rsynnott 1y agoWell, I think specifically autocratic governments with a single king/generalissimo/Dear Leader; this sort of flattery-based approach (it's hardly even real bribery, really; the value of the item is more or less beside the point in this case) does not work with _all_ types of un/anti-democratic governments.
