The bill has nothing to do with crypto. Its about banks and payment card networks.
- cyanydeez 1y agoBanks for commercial purposes who lend money to crypto banks who inturn scam people into thinking crypto is an asset. You really should be more careful with your understanding of who benefits. It's definitely not you, unless you have a crypto startup looking to defraud customers for the next shitcoin launch.
- weberer 1y agoYou're either thinking of a different bill, or just making stuff up and trolling. Go ahead and quote any part of the bill that mentions crypto. Its a relatively short bill that doesn't take more than 5 minutes to read. Look, I'll quote the part that relates to payment card networks. >SEC. 5. Payment card network. >(b) Prohibition.—No payment card network, including a subsidiary of a payment card network, may, directly or through any agent, processor, or licensed member of the network, by contract, requirement, condition, penalty, or otherwise, prohibit or inhibit the ability of any person who is in compliance with the law, including section 8 of this Act, to obtain access to services or products of the payment card network because of political or reputational risk considerations. https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/401/text#id8a0890eb4d3c40acb09aaeb4de6c21a7 https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/401...

No worries, I'm sure this will be great for grifters. https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/06/business/why-trump-is-so-fixated-on-debanking https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/06/business/why-trump-is-so-fixa... https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-debanking-executive-order-discrimination-conservatives-jpmorgan-chase-bofa/ https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-debanking-executive-order... https://www.cnbc.com/2025/02/15/crypto-trump-gop-leadershipo-gang-up-on-fdic-over-debanking-.html https://www.cnbc.com/2025/02/15/crypto-trump-gop-leadershipo... https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/83sxm0/cryptocurrencies_last_week_tonight_with_john/ https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/83sxm0/cryptocu... Just your classic concern for the little guy masking the classic concern for the grift. Keep protecting the marks.
- conception 1y agoWho has “reputational risks”? Crypto. This is also “Banks can’t not service the KKK”.
