Ah yes, blame the users for the algorithm. Makes sense. Blame the overweight for the food they have access to! Blame the kids for failing schools!
Not everything is a personal moral failure when society is literally out to get each and every one of us. Many of us have been damaged by the ‘net, it’s purveyors of crap, intentionally for their gain.
Don’t just turn and point fingers at the endusers. They sure as fuck didn’t design the algorithms.
- os2warpman 1y agoPerhaps growing up in an age and (admittedly unusual) setting where I had to deliberately choose the media I consumed, rather than having it fed to me, was a boon. I am convinced that is a skill that can be learned or taught.
