These kinds of problems are what fuel a return to hotel and structured accommodation services. I suppose a dismal scientist (economist) would call this a self-correcting propensity in the competitive market or something. Personally, I just think the sector needs to be properly regulated. It's fucking up home prices in lots of places, it's full of shonky ripoffs, bad ads, misleading behaviour, hidden charges. I've also had some amazingly positive stays (stayz!) and I will continue to look at airbnb when I am making choices for trips.
