This is what I never understand about posts like this. The buying power of an individual for their own selfish purposes becomes meaningless at a surprisingly low number. One billion cannot even be spent as one or a few transactions.
- apothegm 1y agoHow much does a sports franchise cost? A newly constructed high-rise? A private island? A contract for a ~~private army~~ security force? A bribe?
- sublinear 1y agoNone of those things are a strictly personal purchase. Almost all of those are part of running a business. In the case of bribes, nobody would ever go along with it if it was only one person impacted.
