That's very true. I had a very similar idea a while ago, but it worked the other way around: semi-relevant tangents and sidenotes would be collapsed by default,

That's very true. I had a very similar idea a while ago, but it worked the other way around: semi-relevant tangents and sidenotes would be collapsed by default, and you click to expand them.
