Is there any economic sense in using tape drives at all for personal use? I've glanced over the prices, and these things are very expensive. It seems to make much more sense to buy a 20TB+ HDD, or few of these.
- serf 1y agoit's not bad if you go at least one generation backwards and have big data hoarding requirements. SSDs are so much nicer maintenance wise.. but having a tape changer on your rack wasting energy at home is another type of nerd cool.
