What is the use case for this? Their cloud gateways are very affordable. Aside from the academic aspects of it I don’t see why I would want to run a home brew version of their cloud gateway.

- kalleboo 1y agoThe only Ubiquiti gear I use are their APs, and have cheaper solutions for routing/switching, so being able to run the controller for the APs as a container on an existing machine is a nice.
- sgjohnson 1y agoMulti-site centralized management if you don't want to use Ubiquiti's cloud. UI has an entire lineup of non-Cloud gateways. This is also for setups without an Ubiquiti gateway. Like a setup with just UI switches or APs.
