I hear very little actual skepticism that LLMs are useful. What I see is a set of use cases where they are great. As well as heaps of people who extrapolate a false idea that because they are good at use cases A, B, and C, they must be good for the whole alphabet. And they simply are not.
So when people push back against using LLMs in areas where they do not excel, that is not skepticism, that is realism. Take away the hype, take away the emotion, and they are what many people have been saying all along - just a tool. Use it where it makes sense, leave it alone where it does not.
