  Dang addressed this today in this comment: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44715823 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44715823 We do occasionally turn off flags in order to allow a discussion to happen because allowing no discussion to happen seems wrong Many people have different views on whether this and other topics should have significant exposure and discussion on HN, but in this case it seems enough of the community sees the topic as important to discuss, that we need to respect that sentiment.
