The General Economics Theory of Enshittification
- johnnienaked 1y agoLoved it. Enshittification is taught in business school. It's not just tech businesses or businesses with network effects. It's EVERY business. One might even say enshittification is a core tenet of capitalism. Balanced scorecards and strategic initiatives to cut cost (and hence, increase profit) every year by ~1%, sacrificing long term cash flows for short term "growth." Customers don't notice until they do.
