- burnt-resistor 1y agoIt's really JFK's, Nixon's, and Reagan's fault. JFK made the mistake of obliterating institutions in preparation for the residential treatment centers plan before having the latter secured. (And then he got got before finishing either.) Nixon and Reagan doubled-down on this unfinished project by making it even worse without offering anything resembling a functional, affordable, accessible, and humane mental healthcare system in America. Reagan and Trump both share the quality of obliterating anything they don't understand.
