just use bitcoin. there is literally no downside. it is easier to implement than most payment providers that i know. moreover there are payment provider that work with bitcoin so you do not have to.
- busterarm 1y agoUnless you live in China, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Iraq...
- nicman23 1y agothey first have to prove you have bitcoin.
- justonceokay 1y agoThe downside is of course that you limit your potential clientele to those who have bitcoin, and that every transaction is publicly logged forever.

- nicman23 1y agoyou can just add them along with others. then limit ie adult content to bitcoin payments
- Der_Einzige 1y agoHorrible fees, long waiting times, forced centralized exchanges. That’s after they claimed cheap, fast, decentralized. Fk that scam, I’ll stay with regular money.
- nicman23 1y agoso you are quite wrong on fees https://phoenix.acinq.co/faq#where-is-my-on-chain-balance https://phoenix.acinq.co/faq#where-is-my-on-chain-balance if you want to read about recent bitcoin wallets.
- thrance 1y agoNo protection against theft, insane energy consumption.
- nicman23 1y agoyou mean the same protection as cash and a fraction of the energy cost of all banking / visa / mastercard with an economic incentive to use renewables. dont forget protection against theft inserts someone else to each transaction
- thrance 1y agoThat's an obvious flat out lie, crypto consumes much more power than the banking system, because of course it does. It literally relies on proof of work, through arrays of GPUs pointlessly crunching numbers. And that's just to handle a fraction of the number of transactions the banking system does. It's estimated that Bitcoin alone uses up as much power as an entire country: https://www.polytechnique-insights.com/en/columns/energy/bitcoin-electricity-consumption-comparable-to-that-of-poland/ https://www.polytechnique-insights.com/en/columns/energy/bit... And how many people use crypto again? As for the thievery part: https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com
- nicman23 1y agoit is ok my dude you do not have you use it. you think bitcoin uses more power than all the banks, merchant POS backends like visa and mastercard, things like SEPA, paper transactions, paper printers -because cash- , etc you even mention gpus not asics and POW as a bad thing. it is the ONLY thing that is worth about bitcoin. > https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com/ https://www.web3isgoinggreat.com/ try ctrl+f bitcoin lol
