For text LLMs, on a basic level, isn't it just aggregating the percentage chance of a specific word order based on the topic/genre? I've just started looking into them, but it feels like A BUNCH of stats hidden beneath a layer of if/else statements. It only seems to work given an unlimited amount of money being thrown at it. Which would be possible if it were nationalized, but they're too greedy for that to happen.
